The money raised tonight during the Paddle Challenge will be going towards improvements to the softball and baseball facilities. The St. Helens School District is addressing the long-term fix for each program that will be dependent on the passing of the recent announce bond measure. Improvements have already begun with the purchase of the new scoreboard for the baseball field. Next Saturday, March 14th, we have organized a work crew to repair the infield of the softball diamond. Over time the dirt has migrated to the dugouts so will be moving that dirt to the center of the filed, add some additional material, and eventually creating a crown to the field. The will also reduce the "bump" from the infield to the outfield. In addition, both the Varsity and JV baseball fields will receive work to the pitching mound along with repairs around the batting box. We will also be addressing some fencing needs. In addition to the field work, both programs are in need of some additional tarps. If you have time and would like to join the work party will be meeting at the high school facilities at 8:00 a.m., please come and join us and bring your wheelbarrow.
